Good time or bad time, employees expect salary hike and perks


More than 75 percent candidates out of 400 employees polled in recently by a leading firm, not it’s not Fred Loya Insurance but it is Ma Foim have come up with strange but not unexpected result. The survey finding says that employees want a pay hike, bonus, perks and incentive, irrespective of the prevailing economic slowdown. These people were polled as part of a survey that was carried in 30 countries and as many as 1.3 lakh employees were interviewed. “I too need a salary hike as we wait for this moment for nearly 12 months, I am looking forward to my annual performance review, says George (name changed on request), who works with Fred Loya Insurance. 

About 72 per cent employees in India also looking forward to appraisal, even though they know about the recession which is affecting one and all, across the world. The survey has warned of the impending tension between employee expectations and employers ability and decision on the pay hike. “ For sure we would be giving a hike to all those work with Fred Loya Insurance,” says a manager of the same firm.
